بانی
تقریباً آٹھ دہائیاں قبل دیوبند میں حضرت مفتی محمد شفیع عثمانی صاحب (رحمہ اللہ) نے مقدس اسلامی علوم کی حفاظت اور اشاعت کے لیے کتب خانہ دارالاشاعت کی بنیاد رکھی۔ تقسیمِ برصغیر کے باعث جب دردناک ہجرت پیش آئی تو علمی خزانوں کا بڑا ذخیرہ پیچھے رہ گیا، اور نئے قائم ہونے والے ملک پاکستان میں مستند اسلامی علم کے لیے ایک شدید خلا پیدا ہو گیا۔ اگرچہ مفتیِ اعظم ملک کے اسلامی آئینی خاکے کی تیاری میں جلیل القدر علماء کے ساتھ گہری طرح مصروف تھے، پھر بھی ان کا عزم اٹل تھا کہ مقدس علم کی روشنی بلا انقطاع ذہنوں کو منور کرتی رہے۔

شریکِ بانی و معمار
یہ عظیم ذمہ داری ان کے لائق فرزند محمد رضی عثمانی صاحب (رحمہ اللہ) کو سونپی گئی، جنہوں نے شریکِ بانی اور محرکِ اصلی کی حیثیت سے نئے سرے سے تعمیر کا بیڑا اٹھایا۔ 1950ء میں کراچی کے پُررونق قلب میں انہوں نے اپنے والدِ ماجد کی براہِ راست روحانی رہنمائی اور سید سلیمان ندوی (رحمہ اللہ) کی دعاؤں کے سائے میں اس ادارے کی بنیاد رکھی۔ دہائیوں کی خاموش قربانی اور بے لچک نظم و ضبط کے ذریعے محمد رضی عثمانی صاحب (رحمہ اللہ) نے ایک معمولی آغاز کو ممتاز اشاعتی ادارے میں بدل دیا، کلاسیکی علمی کتب کی اشاعت کو پروان چڑھایا، اور اکابر علماء اور عام قارئین کے درمیان اعتماد کا پل قائم کیا۔

وقت گزرتا گیا اور یہ مقدس امانت تیسری نسل — ان کے صاحبزادے خلیل اشرف عثمانی صاحب (مدظلہم) — تک پہنچی۔ بطور سی ای او انہوں نے بنیادی روح کو برقرار رکھتے ہوئے ادارے کے نظام کو جدید بنایا اور اس کی رسائی علاقائی حدود سے کہیں آگے تک پہنچائی۔ عالمی قارئین کی بدلتی ضروریات کو سمجھتے ہوئے انہوں نے کلاسیکی کتب کے انگریزی تراجم کی اشاعت کی قیادت کی، تاکہ دنیا بھر کے طالبانِ علم مستند اسلامی لٹریچر تک رسائی حاصل کر سکیں۔
